Residents Return Home After Gas Leak

A shelter-in-place order for the Charlton Pollard neighborhood in Beaumont, Texas, has been lifted after a gas leak was contained. The leak was reported around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, and the order was lifted around 2:30 p.m.

The leak occurred at a CenterPoint Energy facility located at 3450 Charlton Pollard Drive. CenterPoint Energy crews were able to quickly contain the leak, and there were no reports of any injuries.

Residents who were evacuated from their homes have been allowed to return. CenterPoint Energy is continuing to investigate the cause of the leak.
