SILVERSTONE, England -- Max Verstappen captured his fifth consecutive pole position and seventh of the 2023 Formula 1 season on Saturday, leading a Red Bull Racing front-row sweep at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.
The Dutchman finished more than three tenths clear of teammate Sergio Perez to stay perfect in qualifying this season when not including the Monaco Grand Prix, where he crashed in Q3 and started fourth.
Carlos Sainz Jr. finished third for Ferrari ahead of Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes and Nicholas Latifi of Williams.
Valtteri Bottas had his qualifying result disqualified Saturday as his Alfa Romeo was unable to provide the required 1-liter fuel sample after qualifying, dropping him from eighth to the back of the grid.
Verstappen will seek his fourth win of the 2023 season on Sunday, which he'll start from the pole for the first time at Silverstone.
